Hi!
The board game has a few elements in play and these were copied for GO
Dice rolls - these randomly determine the outcome of a play by defining the result
The player card - determines a player’s ability by aligning dice rolls with results
The boards - tables of outcomes for specific results. Different tables are used for different game situations.
The board game uses two six sided dice, one red, one white. A roll result is read sequentially, so two 1’s = 11, two 6s = 66, etc.
In a play, the dice are rolled, the card is checked to see what the result of the dice roll is, and the appropriate table is consulted for the outcome of the play.
In GO, all the work of checking the card, tables and outcome is done for you.
Hence the roll resulting in a 25 on the batter’s card means a table was consulted for the number 25 and the associated outcome was a strikeout.
In games against the micro manager or in solitaire play, you can turn on Step Play in game configuration, and you will see the results of the dice roll highlighted on the batter’s card during play. The boards are consulted in the background always.
I hope this explanation did not add further confusion.
Thanks,
Jeremy
