I agree that the step play feature should be integrated into head to head play.

It is a pain in the @#$ to have to click the <- arrow

The Little Pink Machine lead the league with a 52-20 record and got the top spot in the Cap Anson Division. The winner of the last 2 championships the Baltimore Black Sox made their 4th consecutive playoff appearance and faced off the Texas Boxcars who are back in the playoffs after missing the post season in 1933. Baltimore ousted Texas in 5 games. Turning to face Little Pink in the Anson finals, The Machines bounced Baltimore in 6 games to put an end to their hopes of a three-peat. Over in the Buck Ewing division the Kville Blaze lead the division by 5 games over the Pioneer Valley Giants and the Philadelphia Freedom. Pioneer and Philly battled but Pioneer was victorious in 4 games but The Blaze burned through the Valley in 5 games to reach the championship. The Machine was rolling along before the Blaze caught fire and clinched the world series in 6 games.

Congrats to Bill the Chill and the Kville Blaze.

@TSBL That’s a tough one. I would imagine that the cards would not change, EXCEPT for instances where a correction to card data was made during the period of time between original and R releases.

I know it does happen, as the community often reports glaring card errors, and the files do get updated with corrections.

But generally, these are one-offs, not a redo of all the original data.

I hope that helps, but like I said, this is really not my area of expertise.

    Thanks,
    Jeremy

    Another similar example today:
'11 Cardinals lost to '16 Cubs. (pic 1)
But the final boxscore does not reflect the final St. Louis pitcher, Octavio Dotel, who faced one batter to get the final out in the bottom of the 8th. (pic 2)
The Game History boxscore also fails to show Dotel. (pic 3)
But, good news, Dotel’s appearance IS tabulated in my Collections.

I know y’all are working on this, but I wanted to post this one as well… similar issue where the starter got the win when he wasn’t supposed to, but on this one the LOSS was also incorrect. The starter came out of the game with the tying run on 2nd, the bullpen gave up that run, and 2 more… the reliever should have got the loss, but didn’t.

After a tournament lasting 390 games and 480 days, the New York Giants of 1912 left nothing in doubt.
The Giants ran the '46 Red Sox silly, stealing seven bases en route to an easy 11-2 victory in the title game of this GTOP tournament of 128 teams spanning from 1901 to 2019. Six different Giants had multiple hits, including Larry Doyle who went 4-for-5 with a walk, stole two bases and scored three runs.
New York rapped out 17 hits (16 singles and a double) in support of winning pitcher Christy Mathewson, who went the distance allowing eight hits while striking out six. Mathewson finished the tournament with a 4-1 record and an ERA of 1.73.

Despite going 0-for-3 with a walk in the championship game, Ted Williams was the unanimous choice for Tournament Hitting MVP. The Red Sox slugger led the event in every major offensive category, including HR’s (9), AVG (.404), OBP (.593), SLG (1.053) and OPS (1.646).
Greg Maddux of the 1998 Atlanta Braves was the Pitching MVP, going 6-0 with a 0.68 ERA. Maddux tossed five complete games, allowing only four earned runs in 53 innings of work.
The Gold Glove winner was 1B George Scott of the 1967 Red Sox, who fielded 195 chances error-free, finishing the tournament with 183 putouts and 12 assists.
Perhaps the biggest disappointment of the event was Babe Ruth of the 1927 Yankees. Despite winning the Ruth Division (for teams from 1918-1935), New York received little production from their famous slugger, who batted only .194 with two homers and five RBI.
A notable hitting oddity in the tournament was Wally Gerber of the 1922 St. Louis Browns. In 44 plate appearances, Gerber put every ball into play, finishing the tournament with no strikeouts and no walks. But the shortstop batted only .233 with four RBI in 11 games.

    Statistical Leaders:

    Batting Leaders (min 45 PA’s):
Ted Williams (1946 Red Sox) .404

    Home Runs:
Ted Williams (1946 Red Sox) 9
    Javy Lopez (1998 Braves) 7

Ted Williams (1946 Red Sox) 20
Tony Conigliaro (1967 Red Sox) 18

    Stolen Bases:

No autoplay. Roll all the games myself. Solitaire, but I manage both teams to make the best moves to win. Keep all the stats in Collections, one folder for the AL and one for the NL.
This has been great. Of the 448 regular season games, only three (the last three of a final series between the Reds and Cubs) had nothing on the line. It took me eleven months, playing (on average) four games every three days. There’s really nothing I would do any different. Very enjoyable.
For 12 teams, I’m thinking a 32-game season might be a good length. (4 games vs each division opponent = 20 games. 2 games vs each non-division opponent = 12 games. That makes for a nice, balanced tournament.). I would definitely recommend having two or three teams make the playoffs in each division though. That helps keep things more exciting right to the end.
With a post-season, that would be approx 215 games max… which is a nice length. I suppose a lot depends on how often you get to play. I knock off most games in about 30 minutes, so it’s pretty easy for me to squeeze in a game a day.
    Good luck!

(Edited to add:) Another cool option is just have a short double- or triple-elimination tournament. Those are always quick and fun. And every game is important. A triple-elim tourney for 12 teams would last approx 35 games…

Jeremy, I fully realize this would be low priority on the to-do list… but do you think it might be possible in the future to add some type of “take back a play” function?
I had a solitaire tournament game a while back where a home team was losing by two runs in the ninth inning. They had a fast runner on second with two out. I actually had him playing safe, as his run was meaningless. Yet he was thrown out trying to steal third… to end the game.
I suppose one could argue that bonehead plays happen in real life. But it just seemed like a lousy way to end what had been a good game. To at least have the option to NOT have it end that way would have been good.
Love GO. Keep up the great work.

@sloef There is the Solitaire option in which you can control the pitching and lineups for each team, but you then have to make decisions without Malcolm’s assistance.

@hoffridge I also saw today that I pitching change I made didn’t appear to take, before I hit the pitch button. I went back into the lineup… I couldn’t put him in because he was listed as already being used… so I just closed the lineup… and boom… he appeared in the lineup as he should have been. I was then allowed to finish the game. Before I have replaced the awry pitcher with someone else and tried to finish… but that just messes it up more.

@jjgils said in Unable to insert pinch hitter in 2 games tonite:

u are saying in your reply. I need to make the changes when the bat icon is in the action bar. I am playing again tonite and it works if I try to make a change with the bat icon in the action bar. I was attempting to make the changes last nite when the batter was due up but before I had clicked to where the bat icon was in the action

I have made the same mistake many times. =) The first few I thought something was wrong, and then I figured it out. Even after figuring it out I sometimes still try to do it.
