So I wanted to revisit the Tournament point about facilitating communication for the tournament director. As I mentioned above I tried to launch several tournaments and eventually gave up and lost interest. The successful tournaments on APBAGO are administer off the site with the tournament director having all players contact information and notifying everyone of when/who to play and general communication about the tournament. The lack of this ability when setting up a APBAGO tourney on the site is why in my opinion they almost all fail. The tourney feature can be absolutely fantastic but I lost interest because of all the failed tourneys because of no communication functionality. I just wanted to restate this in the hope it is in the works. Again, I think tournaments on the site have massive potential…but they are DOA without this communication functionality, When signing up for a tournament you should be required to give your email address and cell phone number. In my mind if someone is not willing to do that they are serious about playing in the tournament.

@jwfraasch Thank you. I went to the main APBA site and signed up like it was a new account and did receive the official welcome email-newsletter. Also signed up for the OHIO tournament.

That would be a great matchup! And yes, it was a massive one…probably why it took me over three years to complete. Best part was learning about players from 01-late 70s as I was too young to truly enjoy them as a fan. I would take the time to Google names to learn more about them.

Start up your own Tournament or League like a Group of us have done. A League of 1950’s Era Teams playing 1950’s Style Baseball…“The Golden Era League.” ! We’re halfway through our 8 Team, 28 Game Season. The 51 Dodgers hold a one Game lead over the 57 Braves and the 53 Dodgers.
