Game Credit Awards for Community Tournaments
-
Hi,
I like to pitch in and donate game credits for tournaments because I think it adds to the fun and encourages participation.
Today, tournaments are a lot of work to run and I feel it’s important to support these community-driven events.
That said, after having done this a few times, I think I have to set up some guidelines for tournament credits going forward.
- It’s in the best interest of APBA GO to reward tournaments that are open to public participation. Henceforth, I will favor open tournaments over closed tournaments.
- Arrangements for credits must be made before the tournament sign up is complete; this is in the tournament manager’s best interest given 1)
- Since the recent introduction of single team sales, I have the flexibility to reward credits in smaller denominations that are still meaningful. I will donate smaller credit amounts for smaller tournaments, closed tournaments, etc.
- All of this will change when we introduce tournaments as a game type for APBA GO. We have some interesting ideas for credit allocation for automated tournaments.
I hope you find these changes reasonable, but as always I look forward to constructive feedback if you have it.
Thanks,

Jeremy,
Thank you for opening this up. So far I have funded the
prizes for my own tournaments and leagues but knowing
this is an option is cool. Automated tournaments sound
awesome!
