The Phillies knocked off the Reds by a score of 6-1. Ray Culp (5-7, 4.07) gets the win and Bob Purkey (4-4, 2.78) takes the loss. Roy Sievers went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI to lead the way for Philadelphia. Daryl Spencer drove in the lone run for the Reds.
The Orioles broke a 4-4 tie with 3 runs in the top of the 6th inning to defeat the Indians by a score of 7-4. Jim Gentile (8) went deep for Baltimore to make a winner out of Dave McNally (4-0, 2.29). Wes Stock earned his second save while Barry Latman (0-4, 5.91) took the loss for Cleveland.
The Angels outslugged the Athletics by a 10-6 score. Ken McBride (8-6, 3.28) got the win with Moe Drabowsky (0-1, 8.64) taking the loss. Norm Siebern (11) went deep for Kansas City.
The Twins jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and held on for an 8-4 victory over the White Sox. Jimmie Hall (9, 10) smacked a pair of homers for Minnesota and Rich Rollins went deep as well. Charlie Maxwell (2) homered in the loss for Chicago. Jim Perry (6-1, 3.01) got the win while Joe Horlen (2-3, 4.05) took the loss.
The Braves shut out the Pirates by a score of 2-0 behind Warren Spahn (7-3, 1.75). Bob Friend (8-4, 2.43) took the loss for Pittsburgh. Denis Menke (6) homered for Milwaukee.

The Tigers scored 3 times in the top of the 8th to grab a 5-1 lead and withstood a bottom of the 9th rally by the Red Sox to secure a 5-4 victory. Al Kaline (12) homered for the Tigers, and Dick Stuart (20, 21) took over the major league lead with two home runs for the Sox. Don Mossi (6-0, 1.34) got the win for the Tigers and Bob Heffner (0-1, 4.5) took the loss for Boston.
At Wrigley, the Cubs scored twice in the bottom of the 9th inning to force extra innings against Houston. The Colt 45s pushed across a run in the top of the 10th, but the Cubs plated another pair in the bottom of the 10th for a 4-3 victory. Jim Brewer (2-3, 6.00) was credited with the victory for Chicago while Russ Kemmerer (0-2, 6.40) took the loss for Houston. Carl Warwick (3) homered in a losing effort.
Dallas Green (3-2, 2.3) went the distance and shut out the Reds on 4 hits as the Phillies prevailed by a score of 6-0. Roy Sievers (7) and Clay Dalrymple (3) hit homers for Philadelphia. Joey Jay (6-6, 4.28) took the loss for Cincinnati.

Continuing the theme of dominating pitching performances, Milt Pappas (4-7, 4.02) surrendered just one hit to the Indians as the Orioles turned the tables with a 12-0 win in game 2 of a doubleheader. Pappas (2) and Jim Gentile (9) homered for Baltimore who pounded out 17 hits against Gary Bell (2-4, 3.27) and a host of ineffective relievers.
In another doubleheader, the A’s jumped out to a 3-0 lead against Dan Osinski (3-5, 4.68) and the Angels and held on for a 3-2 victory. Ed Rakow (6-7, 4.75) got the win with a save going to John Wyatt (2). In game 2, the A’s got homers from Wayne Causey (3), Norm Siebern (12), and Bobby Del Greco (3) in a 6-2 win over Los Angeles. Billy Moran (5) homered for the Angels. Moe Drabowsky (1) saved the game for Diego Segui (6-1, 2.02). Don Lee (2-8, 4.00) took the loss.
The White Sox pulled within a game of the Twins in the standings with a 4-3 victory. Tommy McCraw (1) and Floyd Robinson (5) homered for the Sox. Harmon Killebrew (16) went deep for the Twins. Frank Baumann (3-1, 3.99) earned the victory for Chicago with Jim Brosnan (5) getting a save. Bill Dailey (0-2, 1.91) took the loss for Minnesota.
Jim Bouton (8-3, 1.97) allowed only 2 hits as the Yankees blanked the Senators by a score of 5-0. Tony Kubek went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles and a pair of runs scored for New York. Ray Sadecki (5-3, 4.64) got the win for St. Lous, with Humphreys earning his first save, despite giving up 5 runs in 3 innings of work. The Tigers jump out to a 6-1 lead and hold on for a 6-4 victory over the Red Sox. Rocky Colavito (5) and Bill Freehan (4) homered for Detroit. Roman Mejias (5) and Dick Stuart (22) went deep for Boston. Mickey Lolich earned his first save of the season for Jim Bunning (8-5, 3.39) while Arnold Earley (0-3, 5.4) took the loss.
Houston scores twice in the top of the first against Larry Jackson and the Cubs, but Chicago scores 10 unanswered runs for a 10-2 victory. Jackson (8-4, 2.65) got the win for Chicago while Dick Drott (0-7, 5.96) was saddled with the loss for the Colt 45s. Ken Hubbs had two hits and drove in 4 runs for Chicago. Jim Campbell went 3 for 3 in the loss for Houston.
The Phillies scored 3 times in the top of the 10th inning for a 6-3 victory over the Reds. Ryne Duren (1-2, 3.97) got his first win of the season while Jim Owens (2-2, 3.52) took the loss. Ruben Amaro went 2 for 5 with 4 RBI for Philadelphia. Gordy Coleman drove in a pair for Cincinnati.

John Buzhardt (8-2, 1.73) fired a 1-hit shutout as the White Sox blanked the Twins by a score of 2-0. The win pulled the Sox into a virtual tie with the Twins atop the American League. Jim Kaat (8-4, 2.83) took the loss for Minnesota. Zoilo Versalles had the only hit against Buzhardt. Floyd Robinson drove in both Chicago runs.
In Milwaukee, the Pirates prevailed over the Braves by a score of 8-7. Henry Aaron (18) homered for Milwaukee and Willie Stargell (5) went deep for Pittsburgh. Tommie Sisk earned his 5th save in support of Don Schwall (4-7, 5.44). Denny Lemaster (6-5, 3.68) took the loss for the Braves.

Home runs by Joe Pepitone (9) and Tony Kubek (4) and a 3-hit shutout by Ralph Terry (6-6, 3.02) lead the Yankees to a 2-0 victory over the Red Sox. Bill Monbouquette (8-5, 1.66) took the loss, giving up 1 run in 6 innings of work.
All the runs were scored in the second inning as the Pirates knocked off the Cubs by a score of 2-1. Johnny Logan and Ron Brand drove in the runs for Pittsburgh. Ernie Banks provided the Chicago run with his 12th homer of the season. Bob Veale worked the final 2 innings for his 1st save. Don Cardwell (6-4, 2.77) worked 5 1/3 innings for the win. Al Jackson (4-9, 4.86) took the loss for New York.
The Dodgers prevailed over the Cardinals by a score of 2-1 in a battle of the top two teams in the National League. The Dodgers scored first on a homer by Moose Skowron (3) in the 2nd inning. Neither team scored again until the 9th inning when the Dodgers added an insurance run on Skowron’s 3rd hit of the game, plating Nate Oliver. The Cardinals scored in the bottom of the 9th, but Sandy Koufax (8-4, 2.17) was able to finish out the game, striking out 7 and walking just one on the day. Curt Simmons (7-5, 1.89) took the loss for St. Louis.

Whitey Ford (7-5, 2.65) blanks the Red Sox as the Yankees knock off the Sox by a score of 4-0 in the first game of a doubleheader. Roger Maris hit his 17th homer of the season for New York. Dave Morehead (6-3, 2.99) took the loss for Boston.
The Yankees scored 3 times in the top of the first in game 2, but the Red Sox battled back for a 6-5 victory. Dick Stuart smacked his major league best 23rd homer for Boston. Gary Geiger went 3 for 4 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored for the Red Sox. Roger Maris went 3 for 4 and Harry Bright (3) homered in the loss for New York. Dick Radatz (5-1, 1.53) got the win in relief of Wilbur Wood. Bill Kunkel (0-1, 2.7) took the loss for New York.
The Cubs scored single runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings against Bob Friend (8-5, 2.37), and held on for a 2-1 victory over the Pirates. Don Elston earned his first save of the season in support of Dick Ellsworth (7-6, 1.64). Ron Santo and Dick Bertell drove in the Chicago runs. Johnny Logan scored the lone PIttsburgh run on an error in the 5th inning.

John Tsitouris (1-3, 5.73) went the distance for the victory. Bob Skinner had 3 hits and drove in 4 runs for the Reds. Rusty Staub had 2 hits and drove in the other Colt 45 run.
The White Sox and Indians were tied at 2 after 7 innings, and neither team would score for the next 15 innings! Jerry Kindall led off the bottom half of the 23rd inning with a single off Joe Horlen (2-4, 3.95). Willie Kirkland advanced Kindall to second with a ground out and then Max Alvis put an end to the game with a single into right field that plated Kindall for a 3-2 victory. Jim Grant and Gary Peters were the first of 14 pitchers used in the game. Horlen and Jack Kralick (5-2, 2.38) were the pitchers of record. Willie Tasby had the only homer of the game, his first of the season.
In Kansas City, the A’s took a 6-2 lead into the 9th, but the Tigers made the home fans nervous, scoring a pair of runs off Moe Drabowsky (2) before he closed the door on a 6-4 victory. Orlando Pena (3-7, 4.62) worked 7 innings for the win. Phil Regan (5-5, 4.39) took the loss for Detroit. Dick McCauliffe (10) and Chuck Essigian (3) homered in the game.
Billy Moran doubled home the winning run in the bottom of the 9th inning as the Angels defeated the Senators by a score of 5-4. Bob Turley (2-5, 3.95) got the win in relief of Ken McBride. Bob Shaw (3-6, 3.22) outdueled Billy O’Dell (7-7, 3.51) as the Braves topped the Giants by a score of 3-1. All the scoring in this game came from solo homers: Orlando Cepeda (18), Denis Menke (7), Lee Maye (6) and Mack Jones (4).

The Cubs pushed a run across in the bottom of the 12th inning to send the Phillies to a 5-4 defeat. Lindy McDaniel (1-3, 2.73) got the win with Harvey Haddix (3-2, 3.58) taking the loss. Billy Williams (10) had the games only homer.

The Orioles broke a 2-2 tie with 2 runs in the top of the 8th inning and held on for a 4-3 win over the Twins. Jackie Brandt (8), Joe Gaines (4) and Jim Gentile (11) all homered for Baltimore. Johnny Goryl (2) homered for Minnesota. Milt Pappas (5-7, 3.9) went 7 strong innings for the win and Dick Hall (4) recorded the final 6 outs for the save. Jim Kaat (8-5, 2.93) went the distance for Minnesota, but was charged with the loss.
Hal Brown (1-3, 2.82) blanked the Braves as the Colt 45’s prevailed by a score of 3-0. Brown surrendered only 2 hits, and didn’t walk a batter. Howie Goss (5) homered for Houston. Denny LeMaster (6-7, 3.91) took the loss for Milwaukee.
The Giants scored 3 times in the 4th and 3 times again in the 6th for a 6-2 victory over the Cardinals. Juan Marichal (7-4, 1.85) gave up 2 runs in 8 innings of work for the win. Lew Burdette (1-1, 3.21) was touched up for 5 earned runs in 5 innings of work. Willie McCovey (15,16) homered twice and Ed Bailey (7) once for San Francisco. In game 1 of a doubleheader, the Indians and Red Sox were tied at 1 through 11 innings. The Tribe pushed 2 runs across in the top of the 12th inning on solo homers by Fred Whitfield (5) and Joe Azcue (6). The Sox answered back in the bottom of the 12th with a 2-run homer by Lou Clinton (7). With one out, Eddie Bressoud tripled. Ted Abernathy (0-2, 3.80) intentionally walked Bob Tillman to get to the pitchers’ spot, occupied by Dick Radatz (6-1, 1.71). Radatz grounded to second, and Miguel De La Hoz started a potential inning-ending double play, but Radatz was able to leg out the throw from Jerry Kindall, allowing Bressoud to score the winning run.
Game two saw another one-run victory for Boston as they scored single tallies in the 3rd and 5th innings to knock off the Tribe by a score of 2-1. Jerry Kindall (1) homered for Cleveland while Earl WIlson (2) went deep for Boston. Wilson (3-7, 4.28) got the win while Sam McDowell (1-10, 5.79) took the loss. Dick Radatz (7) earned a save.
Ron Hansen singled home Tommy McCraw with the deciding run in the 7th inning as the White Sox defeated the Yankees by a score of 2-1. Juan Pizarro (6-4, 1.62) went the distance for Chicago for the win. Ralph Terry (6-7, 2.99) gave up just 2 runs over 7 innings of work, but was charged with the loss.
Jim Gilliam drove in the deciding run in the top of the 8th inning as the Dodgers toppled the Reds in another 2-1 game. Sandy Koufax (9-4, 2.09) overcame 6 walks and went the distance for the win. Al Worthington (1-2, 2.38) gave up just one unearned run in 3 innings of relief work but took the loss.
Ken Harrelson’s (1) solo homer in the bottom of the 8th off Jim Bronstad (1-3, 3.38) proved to be the difference as the A’s defeated the Senators by a score of 4-3. Larry Osborne (12,13) went deep twice for Washington in the loss. Bill Fischer (4-2, 2.91) threw 3 scoreless innings of relief to get the victory.
Dean Chance (4-7, 3.09) fired a two-hitter as the Angels knocked off the Orioles by a score of 3-0. Leon Wagner chipped in his 12th homer of the season. Robin Roberts (8-4, 2.72) took the loss for Baltimore.
Jim Bunning (9-5, 3.12) scattered 7 hits in a complete game effort as the Tigers shut out the Twins by a score of 4-0. Al Kaline (13) homered for Detroit. Lee Stange (1-2, 1.00) took the loss for Minnesota.
Houston jumped out to an early 3-0 lead on Milwaukee and held on for a 3-1 victory. Don McMahon (2) earned the save in support of Ken Johnson (4-7, 2.25). Tony Cloninger (2-2, 2.77) took the loss for the Braves. Henry Aaron accounted for the lone Milwaukee run with his 19th homer of the season.
Ron Santo’s two-run single with 2-outs in the top of the 7th providing the winning margin for the Cubs as the dropped the Mets by a score of 2-1. Larry Jackson (9-4, 2.48) got the win with Jay Hook (1-10, 5.94) taking the loss. The lone New York run scored on a Jackson wild pitch with the bases loaded in the 3rd inning.
Earl Francis (2-6, 5.51) and the Pirates blanked the Phillies on just 5 hits in a 1-0 victory. Jerry Lynch drove in the lone Pittsburgh run in the 4th inning, plating Roberto Clemente. Art Mahaffey (5-6, 3.87) took the loss for Philadelphia.
In St. Louis, the Giants exploded for 8 runs in the top of the 2nd inning to drive Ray Sadecki from the game, but the Cardinals chipped away at the deficit, with a pair of runs in the 2nd, 3rd, and 6th innings. St. Louis completed the unlikely comeback with 3 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning for a 9-8 victory. Ed Bauta (2-2, 3.41) got the win for 6 2/3 innings of relief with Ron Taylor (3) earning a save. Billy Pierce (3-1, 3.70) was charged with the loss giving up 2 earned runs while retiring just one batter. Ken Boyer (19) homered for St. Louis while Willie McCovey (17) and Ed Bailey (8) homered for San Francisco.

Enjoyed looking at your stats. Monbouquette is over performing because he is overcarded. This is a problem with APBAGO in my opinion. I’d like to make him a C Y ZZ and he’d perform more accurately ERA wise.
