Position Players Missing From Box Score
-
Lately I’ve noticed that players are randomly not making it into the Game History Box Score.
Below are screen shots of a solitaire game I played with the BATS3 Cubs tonight. Note that the initial Post-game box score has the Cubs with 32 AB’s, while the Game History box score only has 28.
The reason is that Chicago’s #8 hitter, 3B Stan Hack (and his oh-for-four night), is not included in the second box score.
I began noticing this issue recently when a player who had belted his first HR in a tournament did not have that homer later appear in Collections.
It doesn’t happen every game… not does there seem to be any pattern to which players occasionally go missing from the Game History box score (ie. home or away team, the player’s defensive position, or where he batted in the lineup).
For what it’s worth, it doesn’t seem to ever happen to Pitchers.
Will file a report to GO Support… -
Hmmm… so it just happened again… and maybe there is a pattern here.
Bill Skowron is missing from the Yankees’ Game History box score. Like Stan Hack in the previous example, Skowron was the visiting 3B, batting 8th in the lineup, who also happened to go oh-fer in the game.
Could be just a weird coincidence, but that feels somewhat interesting…

Well, so much for my theory that it happens only to the visiting 3B who bats 8th.
It happened to the home Pirates today, as leadoff hitter (and CF) Paul Waner had his 1-for-4 day erased from the Game History box score. For what it’s worth, Waner’s stats from the game are not reflected in Collections either.
Weird…

Just happened again, albeit for the first time in three weeks.
BATS pre-expansion Pirates were the home team vs the Braves. Arky Vaughan (playing Shortstop) was the #3 hitter for Pittsburgh. He went 0-for-3, but his line disappears from the Game History box score. And his three AB’s are also erased from the Team Totals…
No clue why this happens occasionally…

Has support gotten back with anything regarding this?
-
@falcon4fever No, not yet.

For what it’s worth, I have come to the conclusion that this problem exists only on Autoplay games. When I roll my own solitaire games, the Game History box scores always appear to be fine.
-
Situation tonight where, not one, but two Brooklyn (Pre-Expansion BATS) players have disappeared from the official box score.
Dodgers’ LF Zack Wheat (batting second) and 3B Jim Gilliam (batting seventh) do not appear in the Game History, nor do their combined seven AB’s or Gilliam’s hit… -
I’ve been rolling most games myself lately… without this problem on any of them.
Am now pretty much convinced that this, as mentioned in a previous post, is strictly an Autoplay issue. -
It happened again today, but I think I have finally isolated this issue.
It seems to happen to players who, in autoplay games, are playing in a defensive position that is NOT the primary defensive position on their card profile.
I moved the Dodgers’ Floyd Herman to 1B for today’s autoplay game against the Reds (both are BATS3 pre-expansion teams). Herman is listed as an OF, but 1B is also a position available to him. When I set the Dodgers’ lineup before the game, I noticed the “1B” in the tab beside Herman’s name was a different color than everyone else’s tab. I thought that was interesting… and honestly wondered if that might anything to do with this ongoing problem.
I played the the game. Sure enough, Herman has been omitted from the Game History box score (see bottom graphic below). In the postgame box score, note how he went 3-for-4, with a double, HR and 4 RBI. But he does not appear in the Game History box score.
Nor do his updated stats appear in Collections. Which really sucks, given that he is a leading batter in the 56-game season I am currently playing.
But I really think this is the issue. Would really appreciate it being resolved.
Will send my suspicions to Support…
