JAG Just A Game

JAG is a 12 team league that drafted using the 1963 season. In it’s first season the Kville Cruisers cruised to aleague leading 47-34 and claim the Mel Ott division first round bye. The Hoboken Zephyrs(42-39) faced off against Ridge REK (46-35), Hoboken swept the series 3-0, Hoboken went on to upset Kville in 6 games to advance to the World series. Over in the Jimmie Foxx division the Ann Arbor RIver Rats posted a 46-25 record to lead the division. The Sparktown Homies (44-37) needed all 5 games before defeating the Bristol Stateliners (43-38). Ann Arbor took 5 games before dropping Sparktown and advancing. In a ESPN instant classic World Series between Ann Arbor and Hoboken, Ann Arbor was well on their way to a championship winning the first 3 games but after closed door meeting Hoboken came back to win 3 straight themselves to force a game 7. Game 7 was everything the fans could have hoped for tied at 2 runs a piece going into the 9th. In the bottom of the 9th Warren Spahn battling on the mound found himself in a jam with the bases loaded and Joe Adcock at the plate, Adcock worked a walkoff walk to force home the winning run and giving the River Rats the very first JAG Championship.
