Monday, June 3 Scores:
Eddie Fisher throws a 3-hit shutout as the White Sox defeat the Angels by a score of 3-0. Fisher moves to 5-3 on the season with a 2.45 ERA.
Bernie Allen drove in 3 runs as the Twins knocked off the A’s by a score of 5-3. Camilo Pascual worked 8 innings for the win with Bill Dailey working the 9th for his 4th save of the season. The Twins maintain a 1 game lead on the White Sox.
Frank Howard doubled and homered and drove in all 4 runs as the Dodgers prevailed over the Colt 45’s by a score of 4-3. Don Drysdale went the distance for Los Angeles, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits. With the win the Dodgers pull to within a game of the idle Cardinals.

Tuesday June 4 Scores:
Tom Cheney goes the distance and shuts out the Red Sox on 6 hits as the Senators win 10-0. Don Lock and Chuck Hinton homered for Washington.
The Mets scored 5 times in the first inning off Bob Hendley as New York knocked off the Braves by a score of 7-1. Lee Maye provided the lone Milwaukee run with a solo homer in the 3rd inning.
The White Sox scored 4 times in the 2nd inning and cruised to a 7-1 victory over the Angels. Gary Peters got the win and also homered for Chicago.
The Twins maintain their spot atop the American League with a 4-1 victory over the A’s.
The Dodgers jumped out to a 6-0 lead over the Colt 45s, but had to fight off a Houston rally for a 7-6 victory. Willie Davis homered for Los Angeles.
Mickey Lolich twirled a 3-hit gem as the Tigers defeated the Indians by a score of 5-0.
Ed Bailey homered for the Giants as they sent the Cubs to a 5-2 defeat.
Each team managed only 3 hits, but the Orioles scratched out a run in the 3rd inning to beat the Yankees by a score of 1-0. Steve Barber went the distance for the win. Ralph Terry took the loss for New York.

Mr. Dick Groat passed away today at the age of 92. He’s having a fantastic season for the Cardinals in the replay. Rest in peace, Richard Morrow Groat.

Interesting that the good and bad teams are very separated… I’m having that happen in my 1971 AL replay as well (though not as far along).
I wonder if that’s a function of the basic game, Go!'s quirks, or just coincidence.

Mickey Mantle hits his 11th homer of the season as the Yankees knocked off the Orioles by a score of 6-3. It will be the last homer that Mantle hits for a while, as he is headed to the Injured List with a broken bone in his foot. He’s expected to miss several weeks.
Jack Fisher was ejected from the game in the bottom of the 4th inning, but the Giants still prevailed over the Cubs by a score of 3-2 with Gaylor Perry getting the win in relief. Nelson Mathews provided the runs for Chicago with his 3rd homer of the season. The Cubs took the second game of the day by a score of 5-1 with Ron Santo blasting his 12th homer.
The Colt 45s defeated the Dodgers by a score of 4-3 on a sac-fly by Brock Davis in the bottom of the 14th inning.
The Twins remain atop the AL Standings with a 7-2 victory over the A’s. Harmon Killebrew (11) and Gino Cimoli (1) went deep.
The White Sox and Angels split a doubleheader, with the Sox taking the first game by a score of 11-4. The Angels took game 2 in walk-off fashion in 11 innings when Billy Moran hit his 4th homer of the season against Frank Baumann to deliver the victory.
The Mets scored 4 times in the bottom of the 9th inning to send the Braves to a heartbreaking 5-4 defeat. Charlie Neal provided the deciding blow with his 3rd homer of the year, a three-run shot off Bob Hendley.
Gordy Coleman launched a pair of homers (8,9) for the Reds as they defeated the Pirates by a score of 7 to 3 in game 1 of a twin-bill. Johnny Edwards (8) and Vada Pinson (4) also homered for the Reds.
In Game 2, the Reds tied the game in the top of the 9th inning and won it in the 14th. -

Baltimore scores twice in the bottom of the 8th on a Jim Gentile double as the Orioles knock off the Yankees by a score of 3-2.
Orlando Cepeda and Willie Mays homered for the Giants as they dropped the Cubs by a score of 4-1.
The Cardinals edged the Phillies by a score of 7-6. Bill White homered for St. Louis while Johnny Callison and Clay Dalrymple went deep for Philadelphia.
The Pirates swept a double-header from the Reds by scores of 3-1 and 5-4. Pete Rose and Bob Bailey homered in game 1. Tommy Harper went yard for the Reds in game 2.
Dick Williams’ pinch-hit, three-run homer opened the floodgates to a seven run 8th inning as the Red Sox prevailed over the Senators by a score of 10-3. Dick Stuart and Gary Geiger also homered for Boston. Jim King went deep for Washington.

June 7 Highlights:
Woodie Held’s 2-run homer in the top of the 7th inning lifted the Indians to a 4-2 victory over the Senators. It was Held’s 5th homer of the season. Jim Duckworth took the loss for Washington with the win going to Dick Donovan. Ted Abernathy earned the save.
In Pittsburgh, the Pirates and Braves were washed out in the top of the 4th inning with the Braves leading 3-1. Denis Menke will get credit for his 4th homer of the year, but the game will be replayed at a later date.
In New York, the Mets rallied in the bottom of the 9th inning, but the Cardinals held on for a 5-4 victory. Gene Oliver and George Altman went deep for St. Louis. Tim Harkness and Choo Choo Coleman homered for the Metropolitans.
Jim Kaat threw a complete game 4-hitter as the Twins blanked the Angels by a score of 5-0. Harmon Killebrew and RIch Rollins homered for Minnesota.
The White Sox jumped out to a 4-0 lead over the A’s and held on for a 4-2 victory. Norm Siebern launched his 8th homer of the season for the A’s in the loss.
The Colt 45s upended the Giants by a score of 5-2. Carl Warwick homered for the first time this season for Houston.
The Yankees knocked off the Tigers by a score of 4-1. Johnny Blanchard homered for the Bronx Bombers while Al Kaline homered for the Tigers.
The Dodgers and Cubs played a wild one in Chicago with Los Angeles prevailing by a score of 10-8. Lots of late runs in this one as the Dodgers scored 8 runs between the 6th and 8th innings. The Cubs scored 5 runs over the last 2 innings to keep it interesting. Andre Rodgers, Ernie Banks and Ron Santo all homered for the Cubbies.

Al Luplow’s 2-run homer in the top of the 10th inning broke a scoreless tie and lifted the Indians to a 2-0 victory over the Senators. Jack Kralick went the distance to get the win for Cleveland.
Lew Burdette scattered 7 hits as the Braves shut out the Pirates by a score of 2-0. Hank Aaron hit his 15th homer of the season in the win.
The Reds scored 5 times in the 5th inning on route to a 5-3 victory over the Phillies. Jim O’Toole went the distance for Cincinnati and Frank Robinson homered and drove in 3 runs.
Rod Kanehl’s pinch-hit RBI single in the bottom of the 8th broke a 4-4 tie, as the Mets knocked off the Cardinals by a score of 5-4.
The Angels grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but would not score again against Camilo Pascual as the Twins prevailed by a score of 6-1. Vic Power and Earl Battey each drove in a pair of runs for the Twins.
Floyd Robinson drove in the decisive run in the top of the 10th inning as the White Sox dropped the A’s by a score of 7-6. Five players homered in the game: Floyd Robinson, Pete Ward, Ed Charles, Norm Siebern, and Bobby Del Greco.
The Giants topped the Colt 45s by a score of 7-1. Jim Davenport drove in 3 runs in the win.
Bill Bruton and Norm Cash homered as the Tigers defeated the Yankees by a score of 4-2.

June 9 Highlights:
Boston erases an early 4-0 deficit and comes back to defeat Baltimore by a score of 6-5. Bob Tillman and Frank Malzone homered for the Red Sox. Jim Gentile went deep for the Orioles.
A Ron Fairly single is the only hit the Dodgers can muster against Jim Ellsworth as the Cubs knock off Los Angeles by a score of 7-0. Lou Brock and Ron Santo homered for the Cubs.
The Yankees score twice in the 8th and twice in the 9th to send the Tigers to an 8-5 defeat. Tom Tresh homered twice in the victory. Whitey Ford, Hector Lopez, Gus Triandos, Dick McCauliffe and Jake Wood also homered.
The Giants scored an incredible 11 runs in the 8th inning as they turned a 2-1 deficit into a 12-2 victory over Houston. Orland Cepeda homered twice for the Giants. Jim Davenport and Howie Goss also homered.
Chicago sprinted out to a 7-0 lead thanks to homers by Pete Ward and Gary Peters and held on for a 7-1 victory over Kansas City.
The Twins scored 3 times in the top of the 9th inning to tie the game at 4, but the Angels pushed a run across in the bottom of the 9th on a Leon Wagner sacrifice fly to defeat the Twins by a score of 5-4. Rich Rollins, Don Mincher and Albie Pearson all homered.
Frank Thomas accounted for the only run in the game with his 2nd inning home run as the Mets knocked off the Cardinals by a score of 1-0. Carl Willey went the distance, surrendering just 3 hits. Curt Simmons gave up only one hit for the Cards, but that one hit left the ballpark. In game two of a doubleheader, the Cardinals prevailed by a score of 14-4. Curt Flood, Bill White and Charlie James each drove in 3 runs for the Redbirds.
Roy Sievers homered twice and Cal McLish threw a one-hitter as the Phillies prevailed over the Reds by a score of 6-0. Don Demeter also homered for Philadelphia in game one of a twin-bill. In game two, Wes Covington homered as the Phillies prevailed again, by a score of 5-3.
In Pittsburgh, the Pirates jumped out to a 4-0 lead against the Braves and held on for an 8-4 victory. Roberto Clemente homered with Bob Friend getting the win in game one of a doubleheader. In game two, Don Cardwell shut out the Braves on 4 hits while Willie Stargell homered in a 2-0 victory.
In the nation’s capital, Sam McDowell twirled a 3-hitter as the Cleveland Indians defeated the Washington Senators by a score of 3-0. Joe Azcue homered for Cleveland.
