Release 2.5.0
-
Today we released 2.5.10, which contains the last of the 2.5.0 fixes.
It includes:
- Lineups that persist and accurately represent defensive ratings where appropriate
- Corrections to in-game lineups when using an iPad/tablet. The process of subbing a player should be less punishing
- PH/PRs are correctly labeled in boxscores; players are chronologically ordered; end of game and game history boxscores align
- Opening a player card during lineup selection will no longer result in a blank card
- Game will correctly award a Win to a pitcher replaced by a pinch hitter replaced by a pinch runner
- Fixed an issue where a Pitcher swapped in as a pinch player and kept in the pitching position would cause a grade decrease
- Fixed an issue where a Pinch player, that was a pitcher, that was “the same handedness” as the opposing team’s pitcher would receive a grade increase
Known issues:
- Collections -> pitching stats -> pitching stats are not visible; they exist and will be restored shortly.
- Support email - still intermittent; should resolve itself shortly.
As usual, please let us know if there is anything still wrong with lineup selection or boxscores, or anything else you may find.
Thanks,
Jeremy -
Hi everyone
- Pitching stats are back in Collections
- Support email is working again
Thanks,
Jeremy -
Glad to see this fixed! It seemed to have functioned correctly for my games today, except for the loss of the pitchers of record under the line score (which I mentioned elsewhere).
One thing I thought was worth mentioning… the fix to have the pitchers in the correct order seems to have applied retroactively, but the listing guys as a PH did not. not sure if that was by design, but thought it was worth noting.

@APBA-GO-Jeremy , 1) Fixing the ability to change starting lineups on a tablet now works. Thank you! That’s a BIG improvement! :)
- Not sure if should submit this to support. Pedro makes a very bad baseball decision. He will let his pitcher bat and make the last out of the inning. Then immediately change the pitcher for a relief pitcher. He should have pinch hit for his pitcher instead of letting him hit… While not a game play issue, it is a glaring managerial mistake.
-
@APBA-GO-Jeremy, more Pedro problems. In my last game Pedro let his starting pitcher stay in too long. He didn’t change pitchers until the 8th inning when he had already allowed 10 earned runs. Then in the 9th inning he let his pitcher bat for the 3rd out, ending the game. That should have been a pinch hitter. I will submit it to support.
-
@APBA-GO-Jeremy, I’ve had another instance with Pedro not using a pinch hitter. He lets his pitcher bat, who makes the last out of the inning. Then in the next inning replaces that pitcher with a new pitcher.
Is this going to be fixed this go round, or wait until next years update?
I’ve had no response from support concerning this issue.
-
@APBA-GO-Jeremy Starting pitcher gets win - long after showering and driving home. The winning run scored in the 13th
-
@APBA-GO-Jeremy, another problem.
Game is stuck/ frozen.
Me against MM Malcolm. Top of the 12th inning. We are both allowing our pinch hitters to pitch because we are both out of available pitchers.
His “pitcher” comes up to bat. I press the pitch button. Game goes into “thinking mode”(clock icon). This is normal for when the AI wants to put in a pinch hitter.
But that’s where it freezes. Nothing happens.
Now that I’ve left the game, when I go back to it, it’s just an all blank field and blank roster.
Can this game be resumed?

I have submitted it to support. -
Today we deployed 2.5.12
It includes fixes:
- Common Win/Loss/Save outcomes should be accurate
- A situation where a pitcher evaluated as a closer could return to the game after leaving the game
- Autoplay ejections now eject
- Autoplay injury substitutions now substitute correctly
- Pitchers that would not appear in the boxscore under certain circumstances now do
- Players incorrectly shown as pinch runner when they should be pinch hitter
Thanks to everyone who took the time to point out issues to support and send in their play by play files to help us replicate issues and fix them.
Thanks,
Jeremy -
Hi Jeremy -
Is the Win -Loss update retroactive? I checked one of my games and it was not… wondering if that was expected or not. THe pitchers who don’t retire anyone showing up DOES seem to have been retroactive.
-
-
I’ve been seeing some pitchers stats where it indicates the pitcher gave up 3 runs but 4 earned runs. See below.
Chris CARPENTER (L) P 8.1 6 3 4 2 0 3 31 8 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 4 4.32 1 1 0 0

looks like the update broken something that was previously fixed… players that play more than one position in a game (or pinch hit) list their position as only the first one… twice.
So a pinch hitter shows as ‘ph-ph’ for the position. It seems to happen every time, but I do have examples if needed.

@josephas2 Hi,
Thanks for letting us know.
Would you be able to provide the Play by Play files for those games to Support@apbago.com?
Thanks,
Jeremy -
@wildfire2099 Hi,
It would be great if you could send those play by play file examples to Support@apbago.com.
Thanks,
Jeremy -
I don’t have play by play, but I sent off a couple box score links… hope that helps!

@APBA-GO-Jeremy So we run a 16 team APBAGO league that effectively plays from say Feb 1 thru July each year. What is on the horizon for optional changes coming to APBAGO in 2023? On the list for Release 2.6.0? Thanks in advance -
-
@APBA-GO-Jeremy Thanks Jeremy… As long as things are OPTIONAL setting that should work for us so we can complete a league season under one set of ‘working rules’. Fingers crossed MLB leaves the game alone…
