Bump ups for Relievers

why does this apply only if they are brought in the middle of the innings. I would have thought the same side match bump up should apply at the beginning of the inning as well?

That is from the rule book on which APBA GO is based.

The only answer I can give you is that somewhere, sometime, someone at APBA thought that was the way to go.

@APBA-GO-Jeremy - Before the patch, the new pitcher at the top of the inning always got the increase for 1 batter.
