Release 2.3.0
-
Hi Everyone,
Here are the notes for Release 2.3.0.
As always, please let support know if something is fishy with any of these items, or anywhere else in the app.
Thanks,
JeremyFielding Stats
The team has been working on implementing fielding stats across the application.This means you should see fielding stats:
- On the end of game Boxscore (for both Home and Away)
- Game History -> Boxscore
- Game History -> Boxscore -> Download CSV
- Collections -> Collection -> Teams Tab -> Fielding Table
- Collections -> Collection -> Fielding Tab
- Collections -> Collection -> Career Tab -> Fielding Table
- Collections -> Collection -> Career Tab -> Player Detail Pop Up (click player name on Career Tab -> Fielding table to trigger pop-up)
- Collections -> Collection -> Export
The Fielding data should display for all games in Game History for most (but not all) statistics, as the data was stored in the DB since the game launched, but was never displayed.
Newly exposed fielding stats include Triples (TP), Caught Stealing (CS), Passed Balls (PB), and CS% for catchers. Note: some of the newly exposed stats have data from games from before this release, and some do not.
Inherited runs were displayed on Game History -> Boxscore but weren’t storing values. This was rectified.
Runs by Inning
Since launch, runs by inning were displayed on the end of game Boxscore, but were not saved in the database or displayed in Game History -> Boxscore.We now save runs by inning to the database, and they can be seen:
- Game History -> Boxscore
- Game History -> Boxscore -> Download CSV
Please note: Runs by inning will only be saved after this patch is deployed. You will not be able to see runs by inning for earlier games in your Game History as the data for older games was not stored in the database.
Archive Shared Collections
There was a request to have an Archive for Shared Collections.An archive button was added for each Shared Collection that sends the targeted Shared Collection into an Archive, accessible via the Shared Collection page.
Once Archived, a Shared Collection can be Unarchived, and users can toggle between the Active and Archived list of Shared Collections by pressing a button.
Custom Teams - Clear Roster
Users building Custom Teams will be able to clear their roster with a touch of a button (and confirmation), to help speed up working with a team.Malcolm and Teams With No Available Pitcher
Historically, when a MicroManager faced a situation where there was no available pitcher, the game would lock up. We implemented a selection process that will include position players when the bullpen is exhausted.Malcolm and Substituting Position Players
Historically, Malcolm made some questionable decisions about the players used to replace injured position players. His decision making process was improved.Added Saves to Game History
Saves were displayed on end of game Boxscores, but not in Game History -> Boxscore or Game History -> Boxscore -> Download CSV. This has been corrected, with the pitcher awarded a Save labeled with (S) beside their name in both locations.Optional Pitching Rule
There was a bug where relievers brought into the game under the optional pitching rule would not see a grade advancement during play. This was corrected.Playing the Same Team
Since launch it was impossible to play a team against itself. There was a community request to make this possible, and now you can i.e. Toronto 1985 can now play against Toronto 1985…3D Dice, Playing it Safe
Using 3D Dice and selecting Play it Safe on the action bar would cause the game to lock up. Doing so no longer causes the game to lock up.Miscellaneous
Front end display clean-up in several areas: text alignment; element alignment; etc.
Scrolling windows should now scroll in the page, and not scroll the page
Some grammar corrections in game queue -
@APBA-GO-Jeremy While playing a game today, there were two occasions when I brought in a reliever at the start of an inning and his grade went up a letter for the first batter only, then returned to his previous rating. Is this a new wrinkle with the 2.3.0 as well?
-
@ncord No. This is the optional pitching rule in effect, as intended. According to the rules in place for the version of the basic game represented by APBA GO:
This part of the rule was not implemented before but is now. Sorry, I omitted it from the patch notes and I’ll add it now.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Jeremy

Great work on this new Release. How can one get on list to offer suggestions for additional optional settings (Individual Fielding, Error Randomizer, Rare Play Boards and the like). APBAGO is a great game that could and should continue to evolve. Again - thanks for all your team’s hard work and efforts.
-
@RobNPR Hi! The forum is a great place to make those suggestions. I assume some or all of those are Master game rules. It’s been a long-standing plan to integrate some of the Master game features as rules options on game configuration. We are slowly approaching the time when it will be their turn.
-
@APBA-GO-Jeremy is there any way you can give an option to stop rainouts from having to happen. The result is 23 with runners on 1st and 3rd base. In leagues, we have to replay the entire game from start unless we want to have the game not showing in the collection standings. Why not make a option come up for no rainouts before the game or even if not that have the code allow a button to come up saying Accept Rainout or Foul Ball?
-
Jeremy,
If a lefty reliever comes in to face a lefty hitter, but the team at bat pinch hits a right-handed hiiter or a switch-hitter, should the relievers grade go back to normal or does it stay advanced for one hitter regardless? Someone in a league posted that it stayed advanced after he made a pinch-hit move. -
@HOFfridge Good question. I don’t think switching to a pinch hitter after reliever selection triggers a second check in 2.3.0. I’ll create a bug for it.
-
@Apbabus99 Hi. The work is already done and in QA. Next patch. Also a disable injuries option. Both are set through flags during game config.

so…played two solitaire games with 3d dice tried to play S runner safe both time game froze as always.
funny thing these times though was game completely disapeared from solitaire game cue? usually it would still be there to pick up from that point after logging out and back in?
but yea still froze up on chrome sorry
-
@TSBL Please contact Support with the details of your game. I just played a MM game and Solitaire game and could use the play it safe feature with 3D dice. So it’s something particular to what you’re doing, or your hardware setup, or something. Thank you!
-
@APBA-GO-Jeremy GREAT work by you and the crew. Since the launch of GO, I had always been bothered by the fact a reliever could not be upgraded for the first batter he faced (like in the basic game). This, and other improvements, are terrific. Great job.

@APBA-GO-Jeremy Hey if I am using the 'Rolling my Own Dice" (Entering Manual Dice Rolls) and I roll a 22-0 the game automatically rolls the dice for second column number for me. I would prefer to continue with ‘rolling my own’ as I would in board and dice game. Is this on the sprint list somewhere? A couple of us are trying to figure out best method to play the game ‘as if we are face 2 face’ and rolling own dice is one of the features we want to utilize.
