In the narrative, you will see a two-out error with a two-run homer following it. And it says the pitcher is reduced in grade. Both runs are unearned. Why the reduction in grade? I know this cannot be the first time it has happened.

I agree that his grade should not have been reduced. I just finished a game where a pitcher’s grade went up from a C to eventually an A even though he gave up a run (because it was unearned). I guess the computer at the moment could only recognize the error as the unearned run and not the homer even though both should be unearned runs?

@HOFfridge You are correct. Both runs should be unearned and Blyleven should not be reduced in grade. But I have seen this happen before, where two-out runs scored after an error have not been counted as unearned.
It’s for examples like this that I wish we had the ability to edit a pitcher’s grade (ie. the first batter faced by a mid-inning reliever, like in the basic board game.)
I’d also love to have the ability to tweak incorrect box scores, before sending final game stats off to collections.
