I decided to replay the 59 Series, hopefully with better luck for the Chisox (I managed them v the Dodgers)… Early Wynn seemed on his way to a shutout, as in the actual Series when he ran into a snag in the 8th. After 2 outs, Wally Moon launched a three run bomb and that was pretty much it The Sox couldn’t do much with Craig and Sherry…

Game 2 continued the dominant pitching; Shaw and Lown throttled the Dodgers, allowing only one hit, and Lollar got the game winner in the bottom of the 11th for a 3-1 win to even the Series…

Game 3 in LA was a continuation of overpowering pitching, with Dick Donovan edging Don Drysdale, 1-0 for a 2-1 Chisox lead. Both teams have a paltry .131 BA, with an overall 1.40 ERA

Game 4 saw the Chisox gain some semblance of offense, scoring six runs on 9 hits, while the Dodgers continued to struggle mightily, not even getting a hit until the 8 inning, when Moon singled and Larker doubled him home, sparing the Dodgers from the ignonminy
of another shutout. Early Wynn emphasized his dominance with 13 Ks. Fox and Aparicio have been the closest thing to offensive stars hitting 400 and 389 respectively. The Pale Hose hope to wrap up the title in game 5.

It was easier than expected for the Chisox as they jumped on a pre famous Sandy Koufax for six runs in the first two innings and coasted for an easy 9-1 win behind Bob Shaw over the completely punchless Dodgers. The White Sox completed rolled over the Dodgers in four straight after an opening game less. Nellie Fox earned MVP honors, hitting 421 with 6 rbis (matching the ouput for the entire Dodger team for the entire Series)… I may post final stats once I figure out which format works best…
