New collection and new statistics?

I think I know the answer to this from looking at past posts, but wanted to make sure: If I start a new collection with the same teams, the stats will start over in the new collection, the stats in old collection will remain and stats from both collections will show in career stats. Do I have that right? Thanks.

Not quite.
A Collection only aggregates statistics from the games added to the Collection.
If you add the same games to two Collections, they will be the same stats.
No Career-contributing stats from games not included in a Collection will be represented in a Collection.

Thanks. My plan is to start a new collection with the same teams and include in the new collection only games played from that point on. First collection is games from season 1; second collection from season 2. I assume stats from both collections will aggregate in career stats.

@birdsonbat No, stats from both Collections will not aggregate across Collections.
Collections only aggregate stats for the games included in the Collection.
To do what you want, you would need to make a third Collection, and add the games from both seasons.
