Is a season replay possible?
-
Hi,
My only interest in using APBA GO, would be managing (no AI) every game of a season, say 1964… I know I can purchase the season and I assume the monthly subscription would NOT need to be purchased, since I’d only be playing the '64 season… I’m assuming NO as-played lineups, player transactions, schedules or AL/NL league creation. Is that correct? Also, will APBA GO maintain team stats and player stats? If so, is it done automatically? I suppose my biggest concern is the ability to conduct a league replay…Thanks for any and all help!

You don’t need the monthly scrip to replay a season. You can make transactions but you need to purchase the custom teams add-on. With custom teams you copy each team as a custom team. You can add and delete the players as yougo through the season. Also all of the stats will be done automatically by GO but you need purchase the collection add-on. You set up your collection then copy the played game into collection (its easy) For schedules you will have to google the 1964 schedule and follow that manually. You can play both teams and not use the AI just turn the AI off. I am currently replaying last year and its going pretty well. There’s a few stat issues with wins and saves. But all in all its good.

All good input, and I would suggest that if you’re only going to create 3 Collections max (you’d only need one for your replay), you would not need to purchase the Unlimited Unlock. Up to 3 = free, more than 3 = Need the Unlimited Unlock.
You get 2 saved lineups per team, if you want more than two, you would also need the Unlimited Unlock.
The known wins, losses and saves issues should be resolved with tomorrow morning’s deployment… we shall see once it hits the larger community.
Thanks,

Thanks much for the thorough replies! Finally, can you advise on rules for basic and board charts? Are they obtainable online or would that be an additional purchase through the company? I’m used to playing computer versions of Inside Pitch, Strat and Replay. I’ve heard good things about APBA basic (quick to play like Strat basic) but I’m guessing I need to read up on the numbers as well as pitcher ratings?

For season schedules I would suggest using retrosheet.org or baseball-reference.com both sites have them. In addition they have starting line ups used for each day of the season. I prefer retrosheet.org but that is just me.
Thank you for some of the other posts on this thread. I am thinking about doing a replay using APBA GO. You have answered some of my questions as well.
