Shane Spencer 1998 Yankees. Quite a card. Only 67 at bats for the season, compared to say 450 for Tino Martinez. Are there ethic issues in starting him at first in the championship series?

I have a personal house rule that I never start a player who had fewer than 100 Plate Appearances (unless injuries make it absolutely necessary).

Good question. Maybe not ethics but surely “APBA Balling”. Personally, I do not like seeing guys with a low amount of ABs and an absurd BA of.350+ even carded or usable unless it is going to be in a league format where they cannot exceed their total real life plate appearances/at bats.

I’d love to see an option added when starting a game that you can specify minimums for players to qualify for games. Examples: A J-4 can’t enter the game before the 7th inning. Or rosters exclude players with fewer than x plate appearances or y innings pitched. Things like that would be nice adds.
