Hello forum people and longtime bug sufferers!

Lend me your ears, and pandemic minutes…

I currently have a dev working on fixing the pitching win, losses, and save bugs.

Due to our previous attempts to fix things, and the length of time the issues have been around, it’s proving difficult to get a good read on what is still broken, and how the bugs manifest today.

It would greatly help our efforts if you could give me a refresher and link to or talk about any of your previous posts regarding wins, losses and saves that are still active problems in the system.

I don’t normally make posts like this, but I acknowledge your collective exposure to the product outweighs ours, and checking in like this should benefit all of us in time saved and a better product.

Thanks in advance for your time,
    Jeremy

I have only experienced one issue. If a pitcher finishes a game for the winning team, he automatically gets credited with a save. I’d prefer only saves in save situations or even simply 3 runs or less. Thanks and great work!

    Thanks for this, Jeremy.

On a rare occasion, I will still see a pinch-hitter credited as the winning pitcher if the go-ahead run is scored during that team’s at-bat. When/if it happens again, will let you know.

I realize saves are tough for the computer to determine sometimes. It looks like GO has stopped awarding saves to any pitcher who finishes a game for the winning team, regardless of score. And that’s great. But I just had a situation where a reliever came into a game with two men on base and the tying run on deck. He recorded the final out in a 6-2 win. It was a save situation, but he didn’t get credit for it. It’s just one of those little things, that the programmers would have to tweak, I suppose. I’m no programmer.

Thanks and keep up the great work.

I actually just had a situation in my last game where the final pitcher entered the game at the start of the 8th inning with at least a 6 run lead and pitched 2 innings. He was credited with a save.

    @RandySteinman @APBA-GO-Jeremy

Do we need more help on the pinch hitter getting credited with a win bug?

    Here’s screenshots from today.

@RandySteinman Same. That just happened with a game I finished a few minutes ago!

Have to admit… that one hasn’t happened to me in a long while (a pinch-hitter being credited with a win). My post was from April, 2020.

@ncord We’ve obviously missed at least 1 edge case. :(

It would be helpful to get a copy of the play-by-play next time you, or anyone else encounters it (support@apbago.com with subject ‘wrong win’ or something similar).

    Thanks in advance,
    Jeremy
