just tried the game out played the card game for many years. the ai opponent brought a starting pitcher in for relief. Is this the norm for the computer baseball game. I’m looking for realistic strategy and statistics. How does the computer handle pitching staffs in the game?

Unfortunately, the AI plays every game like Game 7. Top starters on in relief, etc. Doesn’t go for best available PHs and doesn’t usually start the best available SP but brings them on in relief. And no, the AI does not use any set rotation if you try to play multiple game series with the same teams.

The best way to counter this issue is to play the game in solo mode where you control both teams. That way you will control the staffs and their rotations/roles. Hopefully, that is something on the horizon for improvement.

So playing a season you can not just play one team and leave the rest for the game to play and expect realistic simulation. Very disappointing. And i guess no master game for the pc yet as i did not see that option. I guess I will wait then to see improvement.

@myrmidon unfortunately the computer plays as if the game is the 7th game of the world series and all bets are off. If you play solitaire you can manage both teams.
