Injury substitution
-
Playing a game with a custom team against a team from the 70s. Fielding one, runners at 1st and 2nd, catcher at the plate gets a play result of a 38, runner out at 1st, pitcher injured. It was the third out but the system forced me to put in a replacement pitcher (it was a DH game) before the top of the inning ended. After my team batted, the replacement screen came up with the reliever showing as a PR (pinch-runner, I guess) and I had to switch to a 3rd pitcher before I could move on with the game. First time I have ever had this one happen, though the substitution being forced immediately following an injury result has created lineup problems in the past. I usually use a starting pitcher as a “place holder” when the injury is at the end of a half inning to bypass the problem but didn’t think about it in this case.
