Interstate APBA Baseball League (IABL)
-
I’ll be using APBA GO to play my 162 game season with the IABL. An 8 team email league, current season (2018) no XCs, 40 man rosters, 26 man active roster, SPs governed by GS, RPs by IP, all position players by Gs.
I’ll be posting the results for my team, the Ypsilanti-Racing Homers, here. Follow me along my season if you’d like. If there is any interest the IABL has plenty of openings for next season as we have been suddenly cut down to 8 teams from our original 12. I’ll be happy to put you in contact with the commish.
Until then let me introduce the YPSILANTI-RACING HOMERS:

LEAGUE WIDE UPDATE:
We are rapidly closing in on finishing March. There are only 10 series out. 5 teams have completed their home schedules for the month. Obviously we had a late start, but you should be working on instructions for April and sending them out. Player usage really shouldn’t be an issue at this point, so lineups/rotations/bullpen usage should be pretty straightforward for your April schedule.
Here are the current standings:

9-12, .429, 3.0 Iron City
2-4, .333, 2.5 Chester CountyAround the IABL:
NORTHERN DIVISION- Blue Ridge’s fast start has been led by Ronald Acuna and Patrick Wisdom, who have combined to hit .287 with 17 HRs (Wisdom 10), 37 RBIs, and 35 runs. Wisdom, however, will only have 8 games left to play going forward.
- Jamestown: Despite just a .200 average, Nolan Arenado has an .846 OPS, thanks to 8 HRs and 3 doubles. He has driven in 18 runs.
- West Valley is wondering if $430 million is weighing down Mike Trout’s uniform, as the superstar has only 4 extra-base hits through 15 games. However, Trout has drawn 11 walks and scored 12 runs.
- South Bend will be hoping their homestand brings them some more offense. The Padres have been outhomered, 16-5, in 9 road games so far this season.
SOUTHERN DIVISION
- Intercourse pitchers have worked to an impressive 3.19 ERA so far this season. Jacob deGrom has been the clear leader, going 3-0 in 4 starts with a 1.22 ERA. deGrom has allowed only 1 HR in 37 IP, along with just 8 walks to go with 50 strikeouts.
- Ypsilanti: 12 different Homers have lived up to the team name, as the club has a dozen batters that have already gone yard this season. Ypsilanti has hit 26 homers in 18 games - Nelson Cruz leads the way with 5.
- Iron City’s Eduardo Escobar has more doubles (9) than singles (7) in 86 plate appearances. Escobar is hitting .235 but has a .736 OPS.
- Just 6 games in, Chester County’s Michael Conforto sports a 1.082 OPS thanks to 2 doubles and 2 homers as part of a 7-for-22 start. Unfortunately, Conforto has half his team’s homers (4), while the pitching staff has allowed 16.
