Introducing Subscriptions
-
Good day everyone!
Today with the release of V1.9.2, APBA GO will begin to offer a subscription option.
It was a bit awkward to introduce a subscription option this far into APBA GO’s existence, so I thought I’d clarify a few things here before it goes live.
We will be offering a single Premium subscription for $20 USD per month. Included is full access to the catalog and all GO features.
We hoped to make the subscription concept as simple as possible, and paying a monthly fee to get full access to APBA GO seemed like the right way to go about it.
The subscription does raise some questions about users who have already generously supported ABPA GO since November 2016 - What will happen to users who already purchased seasons, teams and Unlocks?
The short answer is nothing will happen - you can continue to play with the seasons, teams and functionality you’ve purchased without interruption.
Furthermore, we will continue to offer Seasons, Teams and functionality such as Unlocks for sale in the store. No changes there.
If a user with purchased goods decides to subscribe, they get access to all teams and functionality including what they previously purchased for the duration of their subscription.
If a user with purchased goods cancels their subscription, they lose access to the teams and functionality they got through the subscription, but retain their previously purchased goods.
On the topic of cancelling subscriptions, users who cancel subscriptions will lose access to the Collections they created while subscribed unless they have purchased the Unlimited unlock. (We don’t delete anything, so if you resubscribe or purchase the Unlock, you regain access to the Collections).
That’s a lot to digest! But we think an APBA GO subscription will offer unprecedented access to GO and the APBA catalog, and we hope you’re as excited about it as we are.
Thanks and enjoy,
JeremyP.S. For those wondering, when we say an APBA GO subscription includes access to the catalog, that includes teams added to it in the future, including 2018 and beyond!

@apba-go-jeremy You write that APBAGO will begin to offer a subscription option. What’s the other options? And what does “full access” to the catalog mean ? If the game was bug free and the play results occured faster, maybe $10 month is ok. But the game is not bug free! I first started playing the basic game in 1961, have BBW, and was a beta tester for GO. I think at $20 a month GO just lost a longtime APBA player.

@jnoga $20 a month gets you access to all teams in the APBA GO database, and all features and functionality, now and in the future. That is a lot of value… a hundred + years of baseball teams. Plus, we’re not removing the current options to purchase seasons for $20 each or teams for $3 each, or the two free World Series teams every year. There are many ways to get into GO, surely there is one that is right for you.

@apba-go-jeremy I bought the 1961 Yankees ( or any one team) for $3 so I can play only them and not pay the $20 per month?

I am considering signing up for APBA GO. Is the full 2018 season available if I subscribe? I saw an option to buy teams.
Thank You
