I have now finished the 1938 Cubs replay and they finished with a record of 93-61 whereas the actual 1938 Cubs were 89 - 63 (and 2 ties that were not replayed.) The real CUBS as a team hit .269 with OBP of .338 and SLG of ,377 . In APBAGO the CUBS hit .246 with OBP of .309 and SLG of .354.

I used the exact standing lineups (matching up more than 95% of the time) but relief pitching was left to my decisions. The APBAGO Cubs walked almost 50 times fewer but also struck out 20 times less. The APBACUBS had 221 doubles, 80 triples and 57 homers versus 242/70/65.

Pitching wise, APBAGO Cubs had 2.78 ERA versus actual 3.37 walking 145 batters less and striking out 93 fewer.

One of my mistakes was in thinking that in 1938 the sacrifice bunt was more prevalent. Therefore I had Billy Herman but 66 times while in real life it was 11. I should have studied the teams overall stats to get a better view before I started.

I am now analyzing the stats compiled by APBAGO in Collections. According to their pitching stats the CUBS record was 91-61. I believe that in 2 of the games, the pitcher to assign the win to was not clear cut and therefore nothing was done. Once I verify this assumption I will be writing a fault report. In these cases, APBAGO might have to ask the game player whom to assign the win to.

@pwinske The information you’ve provided is excellent, and many of the issues you’ve reported are in the queue to be fixed. The ability to add rainouts to Collections and custom lineups outfield position swapping are in this sprint; more later. Thanks so much for your effort!

@pwinske I am doing 1939 as an odd ball replay. I play all the home games and let the micro manager do what it will. I would also like to see each decade or era get a micromanager. Nice write up.
