Subscription

I want to change which card my subscription is billed.

I assume I cancel my subscription, then when it runs out, subscribe with my preferred card.

If this is correct, I want to make sure I don’t lose my current collection stats, custom teams etc…

@striker2550 "To change the card on a PayPal subscription, log in to PayPal, go to Settings (gear icon), select Payments, and click Manage automatic payments. Select the merchant, click “Change” next to the payment method, and choose a new card or link a new one. "

Or you can do what you say, but actively updating your payment information through PayPal is the better way. I think it nets out to less effort on your part.
