endurance rating for pitchers question
-
So I understand the number in parenthesis after the letters on a starting pitcher card have to do with batters faced and the starter stamina. I like it. However, I have been using the number for relievers too, even guys who aren’t able to start, since they have a number there too (8 is a common one.) So if the number is 8, then when he comes into the game he can face 8 batters before possibly getting any reductions. Is this right? I started thinking about it, and I don’t remember seeing anything about reliever ratings, but it made sense since asterisk relievers can’t start yet they still have a number. What is the correct way to look at this? Is that number for relievers for them or just purely for an emergency start (even though by rule they can’t start a game with an asterisk)?

Pitcher fatigue is only applied to starting pitchers not relief pitcher so ignore those (8) on reliever only cards. The only downside to the system is the starter / reliever cards. So a guy C/B (12). when he starts he’s done after a couple innings. maybe true to life maybe not
