Oldie but moldy

Asking for kindness and patience here. lol. I am 76 and been playing APBA since the 50’s. (introduced by dad). Am not very tech savy. Think trading beaver pelts for wampum. Anyway, I have always manually played the basic game with all the variants that are offered on the big white boards. I also just kept paper boxes etc. I have several seasons worth of cards ranging from the 50’s into the 80’s. At that point I was in a league that played with drafted teams and thus I never purchased card sets. Have not been in that league for a few years now.
I have been interested in perhaps playing with APBA Go and at this point would be interested in finishing the replay season of Mark Fidrych (already have played 15 starts manually), then replaying Greg Maddux 1995 season although I would have to buy those cards and then play a round robin of 4 or so teams from the 1964 National league. (Phil, Cinn, St. Louis and another team.( I already own those original cards). Also would like to play a round robin tourney of all Cincinnati Red World Series participants, (40,61,70,72,75-76,90) all cards which I own.
My questions are. 1. What would I need to purchase to do the above (and perhaps other replays akin to what I am doing now)? 2. How much would that all cost? 3. I would like to do the managing much like I do now manually. Is this possible? 4. Is there a way to do this without a monthly subscription as even without that, this would be considered an extreme luxury by others in the household. (think wife lol). 5. Would I have to continue to keep the box scores manually and if not would they disappear at games’ end? 5. Are my original cards of any use or would I have to buy cards and sets to use with the APBA Go setup? 6. Is APBAGO. something that is downloaded from the internet?
Sorry for the noobie questions etc but any help, hints and advice would be greatly appreciated… -
Happy Holiday Mac ~ unfortunately the hard copy cards cannot be used with the APBA Go format. This answers your second question (5).
To answer your other questions:
(1 and 2) you would need to purchase the teams you use in your replays / round robins. Individual teams cost $3 while entire seasons cost $25. For the Fidrych and Maddux replays, it would be cheaper (tell your wife you are saving $) to buy the season. For the 4 team round robins (i.e. the 4 team 1964 NL and the Reds World Series round robins, it would be cheaper to buy the teams (saving $). You should also purchase the Unlimited Unlock for $25. With that you can create Collections for each adventure (a Fidrych Collection, a Maddux Collection etc.). At the end of each game played, simply ADD the game to the collection. Your games, team and individual stats as well as standings can be found inside each Collection.
(3) With APBA Go you still manage like you do now, but the website handles the backroom stuff (you click on the ball to pitch, you click the bat to hit, the result pops up on the screen). NOTE that before you click to pitch, you can bring in a reliever or play your infield in; while before you click to hit you can pinch hit, sacrifice or hit n run.
(4) No monthly subscription is required (you are saving $)
(5) the first 5… see (1 and 2) above regarding Collections
(6) You can play games in GO by simple logging on to this website, click “Play Ball” (the green box with white lettering near the top), then select Solitaire mode. Then next screen prompts you choose the teams and options you want (i.e. no DH). GO now remembers your game play options from one game to another so when playing the Fidrych adventure there is no need to keep selecting the same options each time. -
Merry Christmas to you too Bogata Brave and thank you for the response. Upon buying the teams/seasons will I automatically get the screen with the field setup and lineups spaces etc/. Or will that have to be downloaded and or purchased somewhere else?

@Mac-Attack Hi!
The two 2025 World Series finalists are free for you to try on the site.
You can make an account (free) and try playing before buying.
Thanks,

Thank you Jeremy. I will try that after looking at a You Tube tutorial.

Me again lol. So to recap, with what I expressed a desire to do will this cover my costs?
Unlimited Unlock. $25
1995. Season. $25
1976 Season. $25
4 Teams from the 1964 season @$4.00=. $16
5 Reds World Series Teams. @$4.00 =$20. Actually $19 as 1990 team listed as $3.00??? Maybe a typo. no biggie.
TOTAL=$111Guessing for another $9.00. I could get the entire '64 season.
Does this seem correct?Thanks.
