Why no real as-played lineups?

I just got the 1989R season and payed for the replay feature because I wanted as-played lineups. One game I am trying to play involves the Houston Astros who had Billy Hatcher for most of the season. He played 108 games for Houston and 27 games for Pittsburgh. In APBA GO he is with the Pirates, and I don’t know of any way to move him to the Astros. The lineup part of go just says to substitute another player for him. Why isn’t he included on both teams? You can’t really do an as-played replay with GO if he and other players in similar situations aren’t available. Is there any solution to this?

I don’t use the replay feature, but I do play as-played lineups. I have to make all my teams as “custom teams”. That way I can move players around however I want/need. Not sure if you can use custom teams in replay though. Good luck.

Firstly, APBA as a company will card players for the last team they play on in a season.
When we created Replays and implemented the Historical Lineups from Retrosheet.org, this caused a heap of problems in circumstances you describe.
We went on to build the Trade Management feature in Replays to show the historical trades that took place in the year of the replay. At this time players who were traded during a season should appear on the correct teams during the season. Clicking on the Trade Management button on the Replay interface should show Hatcher traded from the Astros to the Pirates.
If it doesn’t, as you describe, then it’s a bug and should be reported to customer support.
You can also use the Trade Management feature to move players from team to team if you want to do trades manually during a replay.
