Pinch Hitters

Has anyone had trouble subbing a pinch hitter for a pitcher? I did when playing the 1975 Red Sox and Reds. When I went to pinch hit for Fred Norman, the whole lineup screen is grayed out when I hold and press on Norman’s slot in the lineup. But when I replaced him with Pat Darcy in the bottom of the inning, when the Red Sox were up, no trouble. Thoughts?

Hi,
When you make a substitution you have to take into consideration what team is active.
If there is a ball icon in the action bar, the fielding team is active and you can make substitutions for it.
If there is a bat icon in the action bar, the batting team is active and you make substitutions for it.

I’ve been playing mostly solitaire since my newer subscription a few days ago. I’m not having any issues pulling the pitcher when his team’s in the field. I can hard press on his spot in the lineup and substitute for him. It’s when I am trying to pinch hit. I understand about the pitch and bat icons for sure. Would I be able to send you a screenshot of what happens?
