A First for Me in 49 Years..
-
APBA player since 1974 and this was definitely a first for me:
The Phillies’ Billy Hamilton (Pre-Expansion BATS) walked IN ALL SIX of his PA’s in a 13-2 rout over Cincinnati.
Hamilton’s BATS card represents his 1894 season, during which he batted .403 with an OBP of .521. His APBA GO card (pictured below) has seven 14’s.
When I manually rolled a 21 for him in the top of the 9th, I initially assumed his ‘perfect walk game’ was over. But I was wrong. It was the Phils’ 11th and final base on balls issued (by three Reds’ pitchers) on the day.
Just one of those bizarre games which help make APBA GO so enjoyable…
