Release 2.6.0
-
Hi Folks,
Summary of larger changes included in this release:
News Hub
We replaced the Twitter feed on the home page with a home-grown solution that will list news pertaining to the site - downtime, new product announcements, etc.
Fielding Stats in Store
Clicking Additional Info for teams in the store will now show the team’s fielding stats.
MicroManager System
A new, flexible MicroManager System was implemented. This system will allow for more easily created, dynamic MicroManagers that are capable of more complicated decision making. The system is a foundation piece that will allow us to build new feature based on it, in addition to new MicroManagers.
Clarence
Clarence is a new 1950s-era MicroManager (while intended for 1950-1959, he can be used in any game like Pedro and Malcolm). Subscribers have access to him already, and non-subscribers can pick him up in the MicroManager section of the store. Clarence’s behavior is loosely based on Casey Stengel, with some influence from Al Lopez and other managers from the decade as well. We will be refining Clarence as we collect feedback about him, and see how he is performing live.
Bunting/Intentional Walk Confirmation
We changed the behavior of the bunt confirmation dialogue, and added a confirmation dialog for intentional walks. Now both will ask if you are sure you want to bunt/walk every time you select the option. Hopefully this will cut down on unintentional bunts and walks.
Online User List Refresh
There was an issue with the online user list refreshing, making it impossible to click on players in it when the site was displayed in the Safari browser. This has been fixed.
Safe Bet Baseball
This year we created and launched Safe Bet Baseball, a baseball sports betting simulation for iOS and Android. It uses the APBA GO game engine to generate games for its tournaments. You can bet on tournament outcomes, or participate in the Super Series progressive tournament. Use the virtual currency you earn betting to purchase simulations, where you can pit two teams together in up to 1,000 games and get a breakdown of their performance at the end, including player statistics across the games. Safe Bet Baseball is fun and free to play, so install it and give it a shot today. Learn more at safebetbaseball.com.
As always, please let Support know if you discover any issues with the release.
Thanks,
Jeremy -
Meanwhile, THIS was a nice surprise today! Thanks guys! :+1: :baseball: :game_die:

Clarence is aggressively double switching. We are working on a fix.
-
@APBA-GO-Jeremy since the update… When the AI manager puts in a PH and/or the double switch, it’s not notifying that in the text box. Makes it very easy to overlook.
-
@striker2550 Thanks! The fix is going in tomorrow morning.
-
@APBA-GO-Jeremy 1:47 pm Eastern, Thu. 11/23. Text still not showing AI manager’s substitutions.
-
@striker2550 Thanks. We did a stealth deployment and the issue does not appear to be fixed due to an inconsistency between our staging and production environments. Similarly, you’ll notice the AI action outputs in the play by play; they are also not supposed to be there. We need to spend more time on it.
-
Clarence is now double switching less aggressively, but pinch hitting is still problematic. More fixes before the weekend.
-
@striker2550 The play by play should be in better shape now.
-
@APBA-GO-Jeremy who are Pedro and Malcolm loosely based on? Curios. Can we get a Sparky?
-
We need Bird Weaver!!!
