Dice rolls per "turn"

So Im really new to apba…completely new. I have played a little apba go and I finally got the board game. I think I understand all the rules except for two. From what im seeing in apba go solitaire games(or otherwise) you only roll the dice once for the batter? and so the only point of a pitcher having numbers on their cards is because theoretically they could be a two way player? The other thing I dont understand is fielding rating. I understand that you add up all the numbers next to the position they are playing but do you add the entire bullpen and bench aswell as all the position players? Anyways I Understand that 1-11 is under the pitchers rating column and that 12+ is under the teams fielding rating column I am just unsure of how many dice rolls take place for every AB. From what it looks like in APBA GO there is one dice roll per AB and the pitcher does not get a dice roll.

correct one dice roll for batter the pitchers “grade” dictates the outcome of the batters roll number for hit numbers 1-11. Pre DH pitchers hit so they need hit numbers and you could play modern teams with no DH rule. Fielding you only use the players on the field

okay cool thank you! that answers both of my questions. My fielding rating was too high for both teams. And after playing apba go I was pretty sure there was only a dice roll for the batter. Thanks for explaining that now I can get into the game!
