I am so excited to see the company is still going strong. My brother introduced me to the game in 1971; I think I still have the cards for the 1970 season. I played into the 1980s, when adult life took over. I bought both the basic and then the master baseball games, as well as the football, golf, and bowling games (I had two years in a bowling league; that was great fun).

I’m now “retired”, in that I don’t work for pay, but I’m FTC for my wife with Alzheimer’s. I am thinking of APBA GO as a possible addition to spending my retirement (if I ever get much free time again). I am wondering how far back the APBA GO teams go back, as I’m interested in recreating seasons from 1970 on (actually, the first season I remember was the 1964 World Series, back in the days of B&W television; it might be fun to start back then). Something about pitchers batting sparks the managerial flame still lingering inside.

In any case, I’ve rambled on enough. I’d like to hear people’s thoughts on GO, APBA for Windows, and how to best recreate a season, be it with APBA or other software that would track statistics.

Oh, if you think you know me, definitely say “hi”. It would be fun to see other old-timers. :D As a hint, I was in the CCABL.

Hi! Welcome! GO seasons date back to 1901.

There are some great people here in the community so I’m sure you’ll find some good games soon.
