I am curious as to any issues or oddities that have been observed with either of these Micromanagers. - Steve

Sidney…has an issue where he pinch hit for a pitcher, then allow the pinch hitter to pitch to one batter in the next inning before subbing in a real pitcher. I have submitted to support a couple of times.

All micromanagers…leave their pitchers in to hit when they shouldn’t. Example…bottom of the 9th. I’ve been told it is because there is no “look ahead” ability. It is annoying.

The developers are aware of that, and it should be addressed soon. Have you seen Clarence exhibiting the same behavior?

No. Just Sidney on the pitch to 1 batter thing.

But all need the “look ahead” thing.

What was the source for the ‘look ahead’ ability? Sidney and Clarence can examine the roster when they make decisions. Sidney and Clarence should both use a pinch hitter unless the pitcher is a really good hitter, and if no available PH is better.

It’s been awhile, but if I recall correctly, the source was support.

But Jeremy did reply to the issue…"The ‘let the pitcher hit for a 3rd out or last out of the game’ issue is likely because no rule is in place to support that behavior for each of the MMs.

Sometimes we just do what we’re given.

I’ll pass along this as a suggestion to our MM guy.

    Thanks,
    Jeremy"

Guys, I know BBW managers are different coding etc, but the rules for these managers should be universal. Anyone thought about asking Steven Galbraith for advice? He has it mastered on how MMs act in most all situations.

@mariner-0 Mr Galbraith programs his own Micromanagers and has a good grasp of the Micromanager language as well as baseball strategy. That might explain why he is one of the few, if not the only, Micromanager programmers. BBW Micromanagers are created for the Master Game. The APBAGo Micromanagers are created for the basic game.

@Steve_Admin Sidney just did it again. He put in a PH then let the PH pitch to 1 batter before putting in a real pitcher. PBP file is available on request.

2nd possible issue…Sidney pinch hit for his starting pitcher in the first inning. It was based loaded, tie game, but 1st inning. Maybe this style is intentional, I dunno.

3rd issue, but not with Sidney…Bottom of the 9th, tie game, bases loaded, winning run on 3rd, no outs. Ground ball to SS who throws to 2nd base to let the winning run score!!!

All of this was in the same game.

@Steve_Admin Just happened again. Annoying as the pinch hitter was left in to pitch and he gave up a game winning home run.

I did submit it to support already.

Is there a time frame for this to be fixed?

    Thanks, John

@striker2550 The PH facing a batter has been an issue that is being looked at, but I am not sure about the timetable for the fix. The issue with the force at second with the bases loaded and no out, allowing the winning run to score, is interesting. With 28, if the infield is deep, the force is at second, and others advance a base. In Fielding Two, the runner is out at home with Infield In. In Fielding One & Three, it is a single with Infield In. We can examine the strategy on that one.

Sidney might PH for the pitcher in the first inning if the other pitcher is tough and there is a good PH option on the bench. The thinking is an opportunity to break the game open early, and there should be a decent long reliever in the bullpen.
