Starters used in relief still not corrected?
-
@HOFfridge We hope to have a patch for starters used in relief having their grades disrespected in head-to-head games later today.
Thanks,

I am unclear about this. If a starter is used in relief, will there be any disadvantage? am I correct there is no bump up for as starter brought in lefty lefty or righty righty in the middle of an inning?

@Morrisp If you are playing using the optional pitching rule (OPR) in a situation where a grade bump would occur and have the choice between using a starter or a reliever, only the reliever will receive the OPR grade bump.
I guess it would make sense to bring in a starter if the starter was two grades higher that available relievers in OPR bump scenarios, or if you had no relievers of the same handedness as the batter and a starter that was one grade higher.
By no means a definitive answer; the APBA illuminati may want to chime in and correct any assumptions I’ve made.
Thanks,

@APBA-GO-Jeremy Thanks. That helps. I was worried using a starter in relief would result in a deterioration in the starter. I guess I am forever damaged by Rick Monday’s 1981 play off home run in the 9th off of Steve Rogers (a starter used in relief) that ended the Expos’ glory years.
