2020P, the Experiment
-
Hello,
Today the 2020P season pre-play data set is available in the store.
View it here: https://bit.ly/3eBWSpm
If you are a subscriber, you already have access.
The 2020P data is an APBA experiment that gives you the chance to play through a 2020 season the way you want to, regardless of whether or not an abridged season actually happens.
If an abridged season happens, there will be a separate APBA 2020 season file released at the end of November, or whenever is practical, just as there always is. 2020 World Series teams will replace the two free 2019 World Season teams. But, November is a long way away, and I’ll update you again when it rolls around.
If you would like to hear John Herson, John Asalon, and yours truly talk for an hour (ok, it’s mostly Herson) about a whole bunch of APBA 2020 news, including 2020P, check out this link https://bit.ly/3hVx9dn to this week’s ‘audio newsletter’ on YouTube. It’s just like being at the cancelled annual convention, where Herson would have similarly spoken.
Thanks, and stay safe,
Jeremy -
@APBA-GO-Jeremy, John mentioned that the 2020P product would only be available until the 2020 official season product was released (assuming there is a 2020 season). He then followed up by saying we’ll stop offering the 2020P file, unless you’re a subscriber. I have 2 questions about that:
1.) If I’m a subscriber, will i continue to have access to both the 2020 and 2020P set?
2.) If I purchase the 2020P set in APBAGO, do I get to retain that set indefinitely? Or will I lose access to the 2020P set on November 30? Or does the 2020P set get replaced by the 2020 short season set?I wasn’t exactly clear to me how this was going to work.
Thanks for any clarity!

@jkrebs Hi.
- Yes. 2020P will no longer be listed for sale in the store when 2020 is released.
- If you purchase the 2020P season data, you will be able to access it after the 2020 proper season is released (if there is, in fact, a proper/abridged MLB season on which to base a set of season data).
Separate products, with the same rules as purchasing anything else… if you pay for it, you maintain access.
I hope that clears things up!
