Apologies -- How to form a League?
-
We have been playing APBA Baseball since the late 80’s when a bunch of us lived in Asia – first with the card game with dice, and then with the PC game (MS-DOS) – we did the draft, old-timers league, etc., – and indeed still play it on occasion with a DOS emulator on Windows as we still have the disks. It was a great game for sure – we are now scattered around the globe at present so that is no longer practical. With no MLB baseball at this time and thus no fantasy on ESPN, Sportsline, etc., it would be great if we could create a 10 or 12-player league, choose an old-timer team (or even draft), play a set amount of games, save the games, the stats and the standings like with the old PC game. Have looked at some of the tutorials but this does not seem clear. Is there a way to do this easily – with say a Commissioner forming a league for $200 or whatever. It is not clear to me how we form a league and do all the other stuff. Thus, can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks, Pat

Thanks for the reply, that is what I am asking – how do you form a league like you guys do? I don’t want to join a league, I want to get my ten friends together and form a private league, and play ball, stats, standings and all of that. There must be something simple that I am missing so looking for pointers as to how to form a league. I am assuming that everyone needs to pay $20 but after that I am a bit lost. I am very familiar with the game, as the old PC game has a similar feel. Would appreciate a point in the right direction. Thanks, Pat

@ptbenic we mostly run the leagues thru collections email and texting. It’s great. Play managers from All over the country.
I usually use Google sheets to distribute stats and what not. Some of these guys that are more tech savvy build league web sites
